Wow. It's been a few months and so many, many things happened. It's really hard to type it all out in a post.
My 'O' Level examinations have finished, my school prom has finished, and it's the holidays now.
(rewind)
Exams, exams. English exam burped loudly (seriously), giving a shock to Li De and the girl beside me. Thank you stomach. Resulting in me screwing up English. My situational writing was longer than my composition. My situational writing took 30 marks, composition 70 marks. Right.
Math went pretty smooth. So was the Sciences. Screwed up HCL. My answers were short.
Well I guess it's pretty smooth sailing. Except for the language portion. I don't know the exact difficulty of the exams and thus I won't comment on whether I feel confident or not, but I did my best, and my result in the end hopefully will reflect my efforts.
Ah. Holidays. Used the computer (insert refreshing 'ah') after a long while, played with the 2/5 guys, and rested for a while.
Then came my prom. Stalking (shhh) through my senior's prom pictures, I realised that this wasn't a simple party affair. Everyone came in their top guns and went all out in their clothing and dressing.
Unfortunately my mother disagreed. She said that this will just be like a party and refused to let me wear my father's old blazer. (or coat, damn why do they have to differentiate it? It still looks like a coat to me) She said I don't need to dress like 'lee lee siao siao' . I fought back quite vehemently, insisting that many of the other boys were going to dress to the nine thousands and I would probably stick out like a sore thumb. (hey I have pride too!)
She refused to budge. I can only swallow my unhappiness and shut up.
When the other guys asked me whether I was going to wear a blazer, I replied that my mum did not allow me to, much to their surprise. I then raged over Garena Talk (sorry Skype) and just told them my predicament. I don't know whether my mother had actually heard this. She was actually asleep at that time.
The next morning, my mother sent me a SMS informing me she allowed me to wear the blazer. I replied I will literally protect it with my life.
Aiya not really la. (but seriously...)
The theme for the prom was "Masquerade and mysteries" so we obviously had to get a mask. The Venetian masks came to my mind and I wanted to have one of them. After some digging around, my sister found Spotlight, a shop in Dhoby Ghaut which have the masks. So we went there and then found out a decent mask cost $8.
I'm better off wearing a facial mask.
Jing An kindly found a mask for me and sold it to me for $2. DAISO FTWWWWWWWWW
(>>> Fast forward >>>)
On the day of the prom, Daniel, Jing An, Yan Bo, Yi Qun and I agreed to meet up. The venue was at Orchard Hotel and Orchard MRT seemed to be the nearest MRT. So we met there.
My jaw dropped when I saw Jing An and Daniel wearing a suit (or coat or blazer or tuxedo or ??)
Damn son.
Daniel told me his one cost $200+.
Damn damn son.
Yi Qun looked rather sexy that day. Never seen him dress formally before. Haaaa
Yan Bo, was pro.
I was wearing a long sleeved chequered shirt with long pants and had a bag with my blazer folded inside. Well looks like I'm a sore thumb.
Going to prom, Jing An tried to make me use my phone for GPS. Fearing for $999999999 worth of phone bills, I preferred to use a map I downloaded off the hotel. He used his anyway (sry ah)
Walking around, asking random strangers where's the hotels, random strangers leading us to wrong hotels, this was real fun. I always love going out with my friends.
Finally, the hotel! WATER!!!!!
Saw a couple of familiar faces in the lobby, we decided to go to the washroom first. (too much water)
There, Daniel asked an unsuspecting angmoh whether he looked better with or without a mask. The angmoh laughed and said some garbage. I really don't know whether he was sober.
After that, we headed to the 3rd storey, the ballroom.
Son of a... everyone was dressed up smartly. 90% of the boys wore a coat (OK IT'S A BLAZER) and the girls were dressed really beautifully. Eileen and Jodeen especially looked great. I literally had to take a double take when I saw them.
Kai Qi, Huang Loong and Zer Dong (wearing his assassin-paedophile-killer mask) welcomed me too. It was then I realised I needed to unleash my weapon. In comes the blazer!!
Wore the blazer, came out. Swag swag. Wore my Sylvester and Tweety tie too. Swag x99.
After that things were kinda fuzzy. We sat with Tze Hern, Yufan, Praveen and You Quan. The food came out, pretty alright stuff. Wanted to take more but then, my old problem bit back.
Sensing imminent problems, I took lesser food than usual (and also because I thought there will be a second round of food) and just relaxed myself.
(side note, they served chicken in a bag! What the..? It was hell taking it out from the bag.)
Oh, rewind a bit. There was a couple of door gifts, a key with the words "Key to Success" by Anderson, and 2 pairs of scissorses with the words "Yi Sheng Yi Shi". We later realised that 4/4 people had 2 gifts while the others had one, and Yan Bo deduced that the scissors gift was from Miss Leow. Later, we realised it was actually from Zer Dong. (my eyes are brimmed with tears now. ok jk)
Well this sucks. My mouth felt dry again, my stomach grinded and squeezed. Went to the toilet a couple of times, expelled some yellow stuff from my intestines. Tze Hern tried to scam me by saying that I won the lucky draw but You Quan took my prize since I was in the toilet. Man don't give me false hope!
Anyway, there was a lucky draw. 25+ prizes for 500+ people. My lucky number was 137. Grand prize was an iPad Mini with retina display, kindly donated by Mr Lo. Wow, it would be great if I actually won it!
So I clung on, waited patiently for the host (which Yufan kept calling him MC Dog Shit for some reason LOL) to give out the prizes. Starbucks vouchers, Starbucks mugs, Razer mouse and keyboar... HOLD THE MOTHER TOOTING SECOND. THAT SHIT IS EXPENSIVE!
Alas I didn't win it. Yufan raged more than me though.
Events were kind of cut up because of my infrequent toilet trips. The people did some snake chain thing doing YMCA and I was befuddled when I came back. Prom King and Queen were also chosen, congratulations to Su Zan and Wayne. Deserved it.
Didn't win the grand prize, Gabriel won it. Right, after a quick check on the Internet I believe the 64GB version was given out and with Wifi and 4G access it costs $1k.
$60 for prom, came back with $1k worth of prize. Best gambling ever?
There was some games being played and we had groups acting out scenes. A video which I had watched before (hipster Shawn) was used, the worst death scene ever. Funny stuff.
There was also a competition in each table to do a Lady Gaga lookalike contest. You Quan was sabotaged at first but after furious denial, Praveen took the job. Stuffed Eileen's high heels into his blazer pockets, toilet paper around his head, 3 lipstick kisses on his face, $10 in his pocket, carrying Jodeen's purse. Unfortunately he didn't make it to the finals. His look will never be forgotten in my mind.
A video was also played, showing our batch's journey in Anderson. Rather scandalous photos of couples were also posted. Oooh.
Just then, I burped. Really loudly. I used the napkin to cover my mouth and fortunately it was when the photos were being shown and I believe no one knew about this. So I'm writing this on my blog. (legit)
But hey, everyone burps. Just that mine came out in one explosive action. :(
Of course, this meant I could only feel better. When it ended, took photos with my friends, some approaching me, others me approaching them. I'm happy that some asked me though (forever alone) and I'm happy that I had the balls to ask others for photos. My balls had not grown during the Sec 4 farewell party.
Lol this seems a bit inappropriate. Alright moving on.
The prom ended at 10.10, but I only left at 11. Dat photos tho!!
Went home with Yong Jie, Jun Yu, and some other boys. We then decided to walk to Orchard MRT. My father messaged me, telling me to take a taxi back. I already reached the MRT then LOL. Thanks to Junyu's great directional sense, we made it to the MRT. And there were still trains operating! (pops champagne)
Talked to Junyu about David Moyes and he raged to me over his tactics. Kagawa!!
Alighted at AMK with YJ, we separated as I took 269 back. Took a picture of my swag tie and uploaded it on Instagram.
Came back feeling dead beat. My father was still awake and welcomed me back. Showered, waited for my hair to dry, then slept. It was about 12.40. What a long day.
Right, it's 12.25 a.m. now. I have to sleep too. Good night. What a long post!
